Ecker honored and Blue Angels defeat Moody Bible

Milwaukee, WI – On a night in which the Mount Mary Volleyball program honored Brianna Ecker for becoming the modern era program leader in Kills, Digs, and Points, they also hosted the Archers of Moody Bible Institute.  It was a celebratory evening all around, as the Blue Angels got back on the winning track, knocking off the Archers in four sets.

Ecker has tabulated impressive statistical accomplishments for which she was presented a special commemorative Volleyball.  Brianna leads Mount Mary Volleyball all-time statistically with 1134 digs, 919 kills and 1112 points.  She was recognized for her record-breaking accomplishments in a special pre-match ceremony.

The first set was a close, back and forth affair which Mount Mary pulled out by a 26-24 final.  The second set was tight as well, this time Moody Bible prevailed 25-23.

The Blue Angels turned the tide of the match at this point.  They dominated set number three by a 25-8 score, and continued to roll through set four.  Taking the fourth by a score of 25-15 to end the match.

The Blue Angels (3-12) will have another home match next up on the schedule.  On Wednesday, October 4th, Mount Mary will host a most familiar opponent.  It will be the fourth meeting of the season between MMU and Lawrence University.  Lawrence has won two of the three contests, and the Blue Angels will look to even the series at two.  The match will begin at 6:30 pm and all live coverage will be available on www.mtmaryathletics.com
