Sabercats down MMU

Watertown, WI- Mount Mary and Maranatha Baptist played a five set volleyball thriller Saturday in Milwaukee.  The Blue Angels hoped to avenge the close loss as they headed to Maranatha on Monday evening.  The match was even after two sets but the homestanding Sabercats took sets three and four to win the match.

Set one went Maranatha's way by a 25-17 score.  MMU would rebound nicely and win the second, the final score of the second set was 25-21 for the Blue Angels.  Unfortunately for MMU, that would be their last set victory of the night.  MBU took set three 25-21 and set four 25-13 for a four set win.

Brianna Ecker and Emma White played strong games once again for MMU, Ecker with nine kills and White with eight.  Ecker also led the Blue Angels in digs with 20, Caitlyn Krell had an impressive night from the setter spot with 22 assists.

MMU (5-18) will play one more road match and one more home match to conclude the season.  Thursday, November 2nd, the Blue Angels will head to Beloit College for their final road match of the season.  Beloit bested the Blue Angels in a match earlier this season, and Mount Mary will look to even the season series on Thursday.  All coverage of MMU volleyball can be found here on www.mtmaryathletics.com
