Blue Angels sweep away Beloit

Beloit, WI- The Mount Mary volleyball team headed to Beloit College on Thursday for what would be their final road match of the 2023 season.  Beloit had defeated MMU in September and the Blue Angels hoped to turn the tables and grab a road win over the Buccaneers.

Mount Mary would start red hot, sustain the momentum through the match and dominate Beloit in one of their best performances of the season.  MMU handled the Buccaneers by scores of 25-10, 25-15 and 25-18.

One night before she will be recognized as one of the most decorated players in Mount Mary history, Brianna Ecker played another great match.  She tallied 17 kills and nine digs.  Both setters came up big for the Blue Angels, Caitlyn Krell having 14 assists and Emma White 13.  Harlee McDowell led Mount Mary with 13 digs, and Emma White and Elizabeth Irving each added 11.

Riding the momentum of the impressive road win, the Blue Angels (6-18) will conclude their season on Friday, November 3rd, against Alverno College at the Bloechl Center.  The match will take place at 6:30, it will be senior night and following the match, the Mount Mary Volleyball program will honor seniors Brianna Ecker, Caitlyn Krell and Morgan Vander Kooy in a special ceremony.  All coverage will be available on www.mtmaryathletics.com
