Natalie Balleto to continue in expanded Director of Athletics role - MMU seeking new Volleyball Coach

Milwaukee, WI- With the Mount Mary athletics department continuing to grow and move forward, Director of Athletics, Natalie Balleto, has resigned her position as head volleyball coach in order to focus solely on her duties as Director of Athletics.

Balleto has served as Mount Mary's head volleyball coach since the 2018 season, and began serving as director of athletics in 2019.  The volleyball program has excelled on and off of the court, producing numerous academic all-conference members and consistently boasting a team GPA above 3.

On the court, the 2022 season saw the Blue Angel Volleyball team record the most victories since the 2012 campaign.  The team also appeared in two consecutive Coast to Coast Conference tournaments in 2021 and 2022.  The 2023 team won their final two matches and returns a strong nucleus for next season.

Balleto reflected on the change, "It has been an honor serving this volleyball program and all of the amazing players along the way. I look forward to the future of Blue Angels Volleyball and what new leadership can bring to the team.

I have been coaching collegiately for 20 years and have had an amazing coaching career with beautiful memories. I have cherished my relationships within the volleyball community and will forever be grateful for those friendships. With that, I am eager to make the transition out of coaching and have the ability to better server the entire Athletics Department. I am thankful to have the support from Dr. Keri Alioto and President Cherney. This is a change that will benefit the growth of our athletics department, the volleyball program and all the student-athletes."

Mount Mary University will immediately begin a national search for their next head Volleyball Coach.
