Trekking On, Blue Angels To Race In Maranatha Invite

Time for racing. The Mount Mary University cross country team is heading to Watertown, Wis. to participate in the Maranatha Invitational. The race is at Brandt-Quirk Park on Saturday Sept. 27th starting at 11:00 am.

So far this season the Blue Angels have just two races under their belts. The first race was a five kilometer competition in Green Bay, Wis. that proved to be a challenging start for MMU. Hayley Hove (So./Golden Valley, Minn.) has been the frontrunner for the Blue Angels, she has finished with the top time for her team in both races. Hove and her teammates buckled down between the first and second race and have taken a team average of 28 second off their minutes per kilometer pace.

With the times improving across the board for MMU, hopes are high for the rest of the season. The Blue Angels had two weeks to prepare for the Maranatha Invite, time will tell how much more MMU can shave off their race times.

After the Blue Angels finish the Maranatha Invite, MMU is set to race at the Warrior Invitational. Wisconsin Lutheran College will be hosting the event is in West Allis, Wis. at Greenfield Park. The starting gun for the Warrior Invitational will sound off on Saturday Oct. 4th at 11:00 am.
