Top Season Times For All Blue Angels

Top Season Times For All Blue Angels

WINNECONNE, WIS. – The Blue Angels cross country team wrapped up their season today at the Lake Breeze Golf Club. Mount Mary University finished 39th out of 41 teams at the Midwest Regional. Washington University finished first as a team, placing three runners in the top 10, and Lucy Cheadle of WU finished first with a 20:55.5 time on the six kilometer race.

The Blue Angels have been working all year long to cut down their times, today, the top three continued to push the pack, while the team all cut their six kilometer times by a minimum 50 seconds. Natalie Guyette (So./Shiocton, Wis.) finished her season off with another astonishing performance. Earlier in the week, Guyette was named to the Association of Division III Independents All-Association Honorable Mention team. Today Guyette finished with a season's best 25:24.9 finish, placing 195th.

Right behind Guyette, Hayley Hove (So./Golden Valley, Minn.) finished 26:18.8, a full minute better than her best six kilometer time this year. Danielle Sherrer (Jr./Milwaukee, Wis.) shaved off over 50 seconds her top time to get 27:02.4 and placing 239th.

The remainder of the squad all saw improvements, the biggest hike in time was Grace Rock (So./Kouts, Ind.) who took off more than four minutes from her best six kilometer time. The finish for the team may not have been on the top of the pack, but with times being cut across the board from race one is a successful finish for the team.

This season has been filled with excitement and improvements from the whole team. As the season comes to a close, the Blue Angels fans are proud to see the team continually improve and look forward to future seasons for Mount Mary University cross country.
