Second Place Finish For MMU

WATERTOWN, Wis. – The Mount Mary University cross country team finished with their highest place of the season today at the Sabercat Invite. The Blue Angels placed second with three top ten finishes.

As the season progresses, the Blue Angels top runners continue to tear down their times. Jori Galles (So./Waukesha, Wis.) finished in third, her best place of the year, and had a 25:25.4 time.

Natalie Guyette (Jr./Shiocton, Wis.) had her best six kilometer mark of the season with a fifth place finish and a 25:29.6 time. Right behind her teammate with a tenth place finish was Danielle Sherrer (Sr./Milwaukee, Wis.) and had her season's best 27:54.6.

In a virtual tie with her fellow Blue Angels, Christina Ishaq (Fr./Milwaukee, Wis.) finished 11th with a 27:54.6 time.

With all the top finishes, the Blue Angels completed their best race of the season. A small group of 33 runners, but an ever-improving team has Blue Angels fans hopeful for the remainder of the season and NACC race which will be the first conference race for MMU since joining the NCAA.

Following today's race, the Blue Angels will have the week to get ready for the Warrior Invite in Greenfield, Wis. on Sat. Oct. 3.
