Blue Angels Finish Sixth

GREENFIELD, Wis. – The Mount Mary University cross country team finished sixth today at the Warrior Invite. 13 teams participated in the six kilometer race on Greenfield Park.

Another incredible finish for the top half of the Blue Angels. A ninth place finish and a season's best time of 24:43.1 for Jori Galles (So./Waukesha, Wis.). Galles continues to push the Blue Angels towards higher team finishes.

Right behind Galles again was Natalie Guyette (Jr./Shiocton, Wis.). The junior has cut her time in six kilometer races in each of her three tries this year. This last performance at the Warrior Invite gave her a 13th place finish and a season's best time of 25:24.4.

In fact, five of the seven runners for the Blue Angels had their season's fastest time in a 6K. Danielle Sherrer (Sr./Milwaukee, Wis.) topped her season with a 27:53.1, right behind Christina Ishaq (Fr./Milwaukee, Wis.) at 27:51.3.

The sixth place team finish today put MMU ahead of other Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference teams such as Edgewood and Dominican. It also placed the Blue Angels ahead of former Association of Division III Independents rival Maranatha Baptist University.

Following today's race, the Blue Angels will prepare for their next race on the UW Parkside campus at the Lucian Rosa Invitational. A race that host NCAA Division 1 through 3 runners will be the next test. The race is scheduled for Sat. Oct. 10 at 11:00 am.
