Blue Angels Take Seventh

WEST ALLIS, Wis. – Today at the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championships, the Mount Mary University cross country team finished seventh out of the 11 conference teams. Aurora finished first place in team scoring. Spartan Jackie Schane took first place in the six kilometer race at Greenfield Park with a final time of 23:24.82.

For the fourth time this season, Jori Galles (Jr./Waukesha, Wis.) finishes ahead of the Blue Angels pack with a 26:40.3 time and 24th place. Paces behind her teammate Natalie Guyette (Sr./Shiocton, Wis.) finished with a 27:13.23 time and 31st place.

The track at Greenfield Park may have given an added boost to the rest of the Blue Angels as the familiar ground prompted another high finish from Christina Ishaq (So./Milwaukee, Wis.) who placed 44th and completing the race in 27:51.58.

Teammates Hayley Hove (Sr./Golden Valley, Minn.) and Carlie O'Donnell (So./Sharon, Wis.) finished off the top five for the Blue Angels with a 30:18.53 and 33:32.59 respective finishing times.

Just two seasons in the NACC, the Blue Angels have consistently finished among the NACC's top talent. The Blue Angels finished just one place behind their team finish in the NACC Championships in 2015. With another strong finish in conference, the Blue Angels can take that momentum to their final meet of the 2016 season.

The Blue Angels will travel to Oshkosh, Wis. for the NCAA Regionals on Sat. Nov. 12. The meet is set to get underway at 12:00 pm and will feature the region's top runners in NCAA Division III. For updates, final times and all Blue Angels news, tune into mtmaryathletics.com.
