Cross Country Competes at Tom Barry Invitational

Green Bay, WI -  The Mount Mary University Cross Country runners opened their 2022 season on Saturday, September 3rd, at the Tom Barry Invitational.  The event was hosted by St. Norbert University.

It was the debut of new Mount Mary Cross Country Coach, Laura Sanders.  Sanders reflected on the day and her first meet at the helm of the MMU Cross Country program, "It was a great start to the season at Saint Norbert. Our runners gave their best effort on a hilly course on a hot day, and they had a great result. It is a very promising start to our season."

Two Blue Angel runners participated in the event, in a field which contained nearly one hundred competitors.  Jamy McClain was the high Mount Mary finisher in 80th place.  Mount Mary first year runner, Jennifer Villarreal, also participated in the event.

The Blue Angel cross country team will be back in action on Saturday, September 10th.  The team will be participating in the Ken Weidt Cross Country Invite, hosted by Concordia University Wisconsin.  The race is scheduled for an 11 am start.
