Head Coach Eugene Miranda has truly built Mount Mary’s Cross Country program from the ground up since 2008.

In what started out as just one or two competing in competitions, Miranda now has full squads consistently setting school records. Last season alone, Miranda’s runners finished solidly in the middle of the pack at several events and had two members pick up All-Association of Division III Independents post-season awards.

Miranda earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon in Physical Education and his Masters in Exercise Physiology and Physical Therapy. After several years of working in clinical settings and in health and fitness, Miranda is now a full-time instructor of Anatomy & Physiology at Waukesha County Technical College in Waukesha.

An avid runner as a youngster, Miranda, a native of Singapore, competed in track & field and cross country in high school and with the Singapore Armed Forces. Hired as a physical training instructor for the Singapore Army, he coached his brigade's cross-country and track squads. After leaving the military, Miranda coached high school cross-country and track at the American School in Saudi Arabia for two years before enrolling in college.

In his spare time Miranda enjoys participating in various activities such as yoga, cycling, coaching marathoners, and playing the bag pipe.
