Milwaukee, WI- The Mount Mary University Athletic Department has announced the addition of Emily Balaban to the department's full-time staff. Balaban will serve as the assistant director of Athletic Communication and Athletic recruiting coordinator.
Emily brings a wealth of experience to the roles, including serving as an Activation Intern and in Partner Strategy for the Milwaukee Bucks. She also has been involved in key roles in fan services and video production with the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Rockers.
Balaban graduated from Concordia University Chicago in May of 2024 and received her Masters of Education in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership from the University of Washington in June of 2025.
While at Concordia Chicago, Emily spent time as an Athletic Communications Student Assistant and the social media coordinator for the CUC Student Athletic Advisory Council, all while competing for four years as a member of the Cougar Basketball team.
"I am excited to step into this brand-new position within the athletics department," said Balaban, "As a young woman in this field, I am thrilled to be part of a university that is dedicated to empowering women." Balaban added, "I am looking forward to building a strong presence that highlights and celebrates the hard work and dedication of our student-athletes. Director of Athletics Natalie Balleto had this to say, "Emily has already been a great addition to our athletics department. Emily adds a layer of depth and value to our Athletics Communication Department that will enhance the student-athlete experience." Balleto continued, "She also brings her unique experience to the table as a former student-athlete, which will be very relatable in her recruiting duties. I believe Emily will grow into this role very nicely and has the ability to truly make it her own."
Balaban began her role on July 1st, she will oversee much of the department's social media, be involved in an athletic department website re-design, and serve as the primary athletic communication contact for Blue Angel Soccer, Volleyball and Basketball.
