The Bloechl Center is a state-of-the-art 19,000 square-foot facility designed to accommodate the needs of Blue Angel student-athletes, Athletics staff, and members of the Mount Mary University community. Built in 2006 with donations from several generous people and corporations from the greater Milwaukee area, the Bloechl Center is truly the heart of Mount Mary University athletics.
BEATRICE MENNE HAGGERTY GYMNASIUM
Harboring a spacious, 850-seat fieldhouse surrounding a regulation basketball court, the Bloechl Center’s Beatrice Menne Haggerty Gymnasium hosts all Mount Mary University home volleyball and basketball games. The gym also serves as a temporary home to indoor practices for softball and soccer.
When not hosting an exciting Blue Angels Athletics event, the Bloechl Center can also host simultaneous competitions, as two basketball and/or volleyball courts run the width of the gymnasium. A full-length, lowered curtain provides privacy and contains each half of the gym space, and independent scoreboards make hosting any event a breeze.
After entering the Kathryn Maegli Davis Atrium, a ticket window and concession area on the mezzanine level creates a steady and balanced flow for fan traffic, while a boisterous sound and P.A. system add to the game day atmosphere.
Outside the gymnasium, the Bloechl Center also boasts two locker rooms—one specifically for Mount Mary Student-Athletes—as well as a coaches’ locker room and a spacious changing office for officials.
Access to the Bloechl Center is easiest off 92nd Street, just south of the intersection with Burleigh. The back lot, used primarily for student parking, is fully lit and can accommodate for even the rowdiest of crowds.
