Softball faces tough competition in Arizona

Tucson, AZ- As they have continued their slate of games in Tucson, Arizona, the Mount Mary softball team has faced game after game of tough competition.

On Tuesday, March 5th, the Blue Angels took on Rensselear Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in two games.  The Blue Angels dropped both games to RPI, Katelyn McCallum continued her hot offensive start with 2 hits throughout the day.

Thursday, March 7th, saw MMU take on the Jimmies of Jamestown University.  Jamestown used a 7 run third inning to put the game out of reach.  Mary DeFore and Brianna Lupa handled the pitching duties in Thursday's conest.  MMU was scheduled for a second game on Thursday, but rainy conditions in Arizona washed out the Blue Angels scheduled game against Valley City State.

Mount Mary (1-10) will have Friday off before playing their final games of the Arizona trip.  On Saturday, March 9th, MMU will take on Franklin & Marshall at 10 AM and finish with a game against Webster University at 2:30 pm.   All coverage of Mount Mary softball can be found on www.mtmaryathletics.com
