Milwaukee, WI- Over the last months around Mount Mary Athletics, Cody Tesch has been a consistent presence as MMU's athletic trainer, assisting the Blue Angel athletes as they strive to achieve in their sports, recover from injuries, and work to be the best they can be. It has been announced that Tesch will expand his role and positive influence at Mount Mary, as he will serve as Head Blue Angel Softball coach for the 2025 season.
In addition to his extensive experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer, Tesch is no stranger to the softball diamond and coaching student athletes to their highest potential. He brings years of experience in softball and baseball coaching, primarily at Nicolet High School, where he most recently served as the Knights Varsity softball coach. Tesch was a four year baseball student athlete at Cardinal Stritch University, and has also coached wrestling for several years at Nicolet and over the last year has ascended to the Varsity Coach of the Nicolet Wrestling program as well.
Director of Athletics Natalie Balleto is excited about the leadership Tesch will provide to the softball program, "We are blessed to have Cody on staff not only as an incredible Athletic Trainer, but also a knowledgeable and experienced softball coach. We are grateful for his willingness to step in as our Interim Softball Coach at a very crucial time, serving our softball students in a tremendous way. He has already been such a tremendous advocate and supporter for all of our student-athletes in the short time he has been with us. The team is in good hands with Cody at the helm!"
Tesch received his Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology Athletic Training from Concordia University Wisconsin and also possesses a Coaching Minor. His extensive athletic training background also includes eight years as the Athletic Trainer for the Milwaukee Fire Department. He relishes the opportunity with MMU softball, "I would like to thank Mount Mary for this unique opportunity to step into the role as head softball coach in a time of need. I live by the slogan- There is NO EASY WAY- I truly believe that our first goal is to empower our young ladies to be the best person they can be on and off the field. My dad once told me you have to be a good person longer than a good athlete and with the belief in our mission, we should be able to accomplish both! It's always a GREAT DAY to be a Blue Angel!"
Tesch is married to Krista and they have two daughters, Austynn (4) and Bryann (2).
The Blue Angels are scheduled to open their game schedule on February 20th. Stay tuned to www.mtmaryathletics.com for all updates on Mount Mary University Softball.
