Blue Angels roll at Maranatha

Watertown, WI- The Mount Mary softball team played two very solid games in a doubleheader sweep of Maranatha Baptist on Thursday.  The Blue Angels combined a relentless offensive attack with strong pitching, winning the two contests by scores of 9-1 and 10-1.

In game 2, Mount Mary scored eight runs in the first two innings to put the contest out of reach.  From there the Blue Angels would cruise to the 10-1 win to take both ends of the twin bill.

Lily Day picked up her first pitching win as a Blue Angel, throwing all five innings and allowing only a single run.  Crystal Peterson had another three runs batted in, Micaela Gonzalez was 2-2 and Naomi Gomez collected two runs batted in.

Coming off the two game sweep, the Blue Angels (5-18) will be in action again on Friday, April 25th.    Mount Mary will head to Galesburg, Illinois, to take on Knox College.  The games are scheduled for four and six pm and all coverage can be found on www.mtmaryathletics.com
