CHICAGO – The Mount Mary University basketball team returned to the hardwood Monday evening, taking on Illinois Institute of Technology.

While the Blue Angels recorded their lone victory of the season against the Scarlet Hawks at the Bloechl Center back in early January, they had a bit tougher go on IIT's home floor, falling 67-33 Monday night.

Sophomore forward Doni Yendriga (Conneaut, Ohio) led Mount Mary (1-16) for the second straight game, also recording her second straight double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman forward Taylor Baumgart (Burlington, Wis.) added eight points, five rebounds and a team-high three steals.

Mount Mary got off to a rough start in the first half, shooting just 5-for-21 (24 percent) in the opening stanza en route to facing a 35-11 halftime deficit. For the game, the Blue Angels not only shot 29 percent from the floor, but also struggled from the charity stripe, going 5-for-15 in free-throw attempts.

Mount Mary will be back in action Thursday as it will host Finlandia University in a 6:00 p.m. matchup. The Lions (10-10) defeated Mount Mary 90-43 in Hancock, Mich., in mid-January.
