DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Mount Mary University basketball team closed out a frantic November schedule Saturday, falling to the University of Dubuque, 88-28, at UD's Stoltz Sports Center on Thanksgiving weekend.

Dubuque improved to 4-1 overall, its lone loss coming to American Rivers Conference foe Wartburg, who is currently the No. 12-ranked team in the country. Mount Mary fell to 0-8 overall, playing its eighth game in just 18 days.

Sophomore Talesa Campbell (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./Boyd Anderson) led with 10 points—the only Blue Angel in double-figures. Sophomore Brianna Duke (Milwaukee, Wis./Rufus King) added seven points and team-highs with 10 rebounds, three assists, and five steals. Freshman Natalie McDermott (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha North) added seven points of her own to go with two rebounds.

The Spartans surged to a 30-3 lead after the opening frame and never let up as the Blue Angels shot just 26 percent (13-for-50) from the floor, including 0-for-12 from three. Dubuque, meanwhile, shot 38-for-85 (44.7 percent) and converted 28 MMU turnovers into 26 points.
