Blue Angels fall in Final Minutes at Crown

Blue Angels fall in Final Minutes at Crown

St. Bonifacius, MN- Mount Mary held a lead at the end of 3 of the 4 quarters in their contest at Crown College on Wednesday. Unfortunately they could not hang on and Crown held the lead at the end of the game, 66-59.

The Blue Angels took a three point into half and held a one point lead heading into the final period.  Unfortunately Crown's experience and depth finally overwhelmed the Blue Angels.  MMU was forced to foul over the game's last minute and Crown stretched their lead to 7, their largest and the final margin of the game.

The Blue Angels saw three players score in double digits.  Deja Rivers scored 19 points and secured 8 rebounds.  Talesa Campbell returned to the MMU lineup and dropped in 18 points to go with 6 rebounds.  Skye Giddings scored 16 points to go with her 5 rebounds.

MMU shot 44% from the floor, one of their best shooting performances of the season.

Mount Mary (4-12) will play one more contest in Minnesota to complete the two game trip.  They will take on the Wolf Pack of Oak Hills Christian College on Saturday, January 7th.  The game will tip at 2 pm and all live coverage will be available on www.mtmaryathletics.com
