Blue Angels grab emphatic win over Northland

Milwaukee, WI- Coming into Friday's contest, the Mount Mary basketball team had lost four straight to Northland College.  Their last victory was a close win on December 4th, 2018.  There was no doubt about Friday's result, as MMU used a 24-2 second quarter to run away from Northland and cruise to an 89-34 victory.

The first quarter of play stayed tight, as cold shooting by the Blue Angels kept the LumberJills in the game at 15-12.  But they would get no closer, Mount Mary would force 27 turnovers and knock down 14 three point shots in the 55 point victory.

All eight Blue Angels who played in the game scored for Mount Mary, with three first year players leading the way.  Brianna Mendez scored 25, including 7-13 from behind the three point line.  Na'Zyia Bobo continued her hot streak with 21 points, and Ta'Miah Jamison had a career high 19, adding 5 three point makes of her own on just seven attempts.  Alexus Hatcher played her best game as a Blue Angel, recording a double double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.  Mendez also added 10 rebounds to go with her 25 points.

Impressively, the Blue Angels recorded 24 assists to just ten turnovers, Sanai Ballard dished out eights assists and India Lucas added 6.
