First half woes continue in Minnesota

First half woes continue in Minnesota

New Ulm, MN- When the Mount Mary Blue Angels took on Monmouth College on Wednesday evening, the Scots came out on fire offensively, MMU fell behind and could not climb back in to the game.

Unfortunately for the Blue Angels, Friday's game at Martin Luther College was nearly a carbon copy.  The Knights of MLC went 10-19 in the first quarter and 4-9 from three point range, while Mount Mary shot just 2 for 13 in quarter number one.

While the second quarter was tighter, the halftime deficit of 41-15 was too momentous for the Blue Angels to overcome, thus they fell to Martin Luther by a score of 89-42.

The highlight of the evening for MMU was the play of Deja Rivers.  Rivers paced Mount Mary with 19 points on 7-9 shooting from the floor.  Alexus Hatcher added eight points and five rebounds for Mount Mary.

The Blue Angels (3-3) will continue their challenging stretch of road games on Tuesday, November 26th.  Mount Mary will take the short trip downtown to Milwaukee School of Engineering.  The game will tip at 7 pm and all live coverage will be available here on www.mtmaryathletics.com
