Ashland, WI- The Mount Mary Basketball team left no doubt in their road contest Thursday against Northland College. The Blue Angels shot out to a hot start offensively, forced 30 Northland turnovers and ran away from the LumberJills for a 75-38 win.
Eight different players scored for Mount Mary, four in double digits. Deja Rivers paced Mount Mary in scoring with 19 points and added seven rebounds. Na'Zyia Bobo scored 13 and Vanessa Diaz 11. The 4th Blue Angel in double digits was India Lucas, Lucas again played an amazingly rounded floor game and nearly tallied a triple double. Along with 10 points, Lucas secured 12 rebounds, dished out seven assists and had five steals.
Avery Gorn's stat line was not far off, Gorn scored eight points, added six rebounds, four steals and two assists. As a team, MMU totaled 17 steals and as impressively, 17 assists to just 7 turnovers.
