Milwaukee, WI- The Mount Mary Blue Angel Basketball team overcame another tough shooting day on Saturday to defeat Maranatha Baptist by a final score of 60-41. The Blue Angels took a 17 point lead into half which they would not relinquish. Sanai Ballard (14), Avery Gorn (11), and Alexus Hatcher (12) all scored in double digits for the Blue Angels, who shot just 29% from the floor.
Joselyn Gonzales scored nine points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while India Lucas had eight rebounds, three blocks and two assists. Vanessa Diaz was also an all-around contributor, with six points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists.
A significant difference in the game came at the foul line, where Mount Mary was 14-21 and Maranatha just 5-13.
The Blue Angels (7-10) will head to West Michigan for their next contest. On Wednesday, February 15th, Mount Mary will take on the Cougars of Kuyper College. The game is scheduled for a 5 pm Central time tip and all live coverage is available on www.mtmaryathletics.com
