Dubuque, IA- With sixteen seconds to play in the game at Emmaus Bible College on Tuesday, the Mount Mary Basketball team held the basketball in a tie contest hoping to claim victory on the game's final possession.
Avery Gorn, drove the baseline and was fouled in the act of shooting with less than one second to play. Gorn, who had seemingly suffered an ankle injury just minutes before, knocked down both clutch foul shots to give Mount Mary the 65-63 road triumph.

The game at Emmaus was a back and forth affair, Gorn hit a shot at the end of the second quarter to send the teams to halftime tied at 34. MMU would lead by as much as eight in the third quarter, but Emmaus stormed back and held a two point advantage heading to the fourth.
With the game tied at 63, the Blue Angel defense came up with a key stop, one of India Lucas's four steals in the game, and on the ensuing possession Gorn was fouled to lead to the game winning foul shots. India Lucas totaled 4 points, 6 assists, 4 steals and four rebounds. Sanai Ballard scored nine, including clutch fourth quarter foul shots of her own and added three rebounds, four steals and two assists. Na'Zyia Bobo returned to the lineup after a short absence, scoring eight, while Vanessa Diaz added 6.
