Milwaukee, WI- The Mount Mary and Lake Forest College basketball teams played a tight contest at the Bloechl Center on Tuesday evening. The Foresters held a two point lead heading into the 4th quarter, unfortunately for the Blue Angles, Lake Forest controlled the final quarter and defeated Mount Mary by a final score of 66-53.
Lake Forest shot 33.8% in the contest to just 25.8% for MMU, that combined with the Foresters grabbing 18 offensive rebounds proved to be the difference in the close match up.
Three players reached double digits for the Blue Angels, Avery Gorn scored 11 and Vanessa Diaz and India Lucas added 10 each. Lucas added another double double to her impressive ledger this season, as she secured 10 rebounds, 3 assists and four steals. Diaz had six rebounds, three assists and two steals, while Gorn grabbed five rebounds to go with her 11 points.
Mount Mary's next contest will be their final regular season home game. At 1 pm on Saturday, February 8th, the Blue Angels (8-13) will host the Tigers of Grace Christian University.
