Golfers Third at WLC Invitational

NEW BERLIN, Wis. – The Mount Mary University golf team teed off its 2021 campaign Thursday afternoon at New Berlin Hills Golf Course for the WLC Invitational, finishing in third place overall with a team score of 514.

The golfers from UW-Whitewater took home the team title, amassing a team score of 345, 61 strokes over par. Host Wisconsin Lutheran was second with a 417, 133 strokes over par.

Individually, the tandem of freshman Olivia Seay (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) and senior Jacklyn Hofstetter (Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South) led the Blue Angels on opening day. Seay carded five bogeys en route to a score of 112, finishing 12th overall. Hofstetter's 44-over 115 included four bogeys, and placed right behind Seay in 13th place on the afternoon.

Taylor Hienbuecher (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) scored a bogey on the 15th hole, shooting a 129, and freshman Stephanie Christiansen (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) rounded out the scoring with a 158.
