MMC drops home rematch to Grace Bible

MILWAUKEE – A late goal by the visiting Tigers dashed hopes for a season sweep of Grace Bible College as Mount Mary dropped a 2-1 decision at MMC Soccer Field.

Sophomore Emily Ristow (Sheboygan, Wis.) continued her frantic climb up the Mount Mary record books by notching Mount Mary's only goal in the 45th minute, coming off an assist from junior Rasika Perera (Oak Creek, Wis.), to tie the game at 1-1 at halftime.

As was the case in the first matchup just two weeks ago, a physical battle ensued as teams shared possession for much of the game. However, Grace was able to find the back of the net in the 80th minute on a breakaway goal to seal the road victory.

Senior goalkeeper Kirby McMahon (Grayslake, Ill.) collected four saves on six Tiger shots, while Mount Mary converted on just one of nine shots on goal.

With the loss, Mount Mary falls to 6-5 overall. The Blue Angels will have two back-to-back road games next week as they travel to Lincoln, Ill., to take on Lincoln Christian University then swing by Peoria, Ill., for a rematch against the Eagles of Robert Morris-Peoria.
