MILWAUKEE – Mount Mary soccer was down just 2-0 at the half, but a barrage of early second-half goals sunk the Blue Angels Tuesday night at MMU Soccer Field as Lakeland secured a 10-0 road victory.

Five Muskies scored as they outshot Mount Mary 36-0 in the game. Freshman goalkeeper Michelle Stepniewski (Wautoma, Wis.) recorded 12 saves on 22 shots on goal in the loss, dropping to 2-4 as the starting keeper.

Tuesday's game marked the fourth in six days for the injury-ridden Angels, though senior defenseman Ashley Leverenz (Mauston, Wis.) was welcomed back after suffering a concussion last weekend against Finlandia.

Mount Mary will graciously take the next few days off from competition before traveling to the shores of Lake Superior Friday evening to take on Finlandia. Game time against the Lions is slated for 6:00 pm Central Time.
