Defensive Battle Between Blue Angels And Rams

Defensive Battle Between Blue Angels And Rams

COON RAPIDS, Minn. – The Blue Angels lose to North Central University in a (2-0) contest.

The Blue Angels had another tough fought game this season, this time at Coon Rapids Sports Complex. North Central University would continually test Becky Onan (Fr./Grafton, Wis.) throughout the day, as Onan saved 11 of 13 shots on goal. Despite the open field, the Blue Angels limited the opportunities to the overpowering attack.

Marrisa Rechlicz (Fr./West Allis, Wis.) led the way offensively for MMU with one shot on goal.

Rebekah Hammond (Fr./Cloquet, Minn.) and Jen Sargent (Sr./Milwaukee, Wis.) each scored one goal for the Rams. Taylor Patch (Fr./Bismarck, N.D.) had just one save on the day.

Coach Joe Shokatz, in his third year as head coach, was in no way disappointed with his teams' efforts, "Becky [Onan] once again was superb in goal… and the defense is really starting to come together." Coach Shokatz is encouraged by the steadily increasing improvements on both sides of the ball. One can't help but have their attention drawn to the performance of Becky Onan, who leads the Association of Division III Independents with an astonishing 75 saves this season.

The Blue Angels will head to Waukegan, Ill. to face Robert Morris University-Lake County. The game on Sept. 17 will start at 4:00 pm at the Waukegan Sports Complex.
