Regents In Town To Take On Blue Angels

Regents In Town To Take On Blue Angels

Hosting four of the last five games of the season, Mount Mary University will play Rockford University this Saturday Oct. 18th. The game on Mount Mary Field will begin at 1:00 pm.

Last season the Blue Angels only managed to field the minimum seven players against Rockford University. As a result the Regents outshot the Blue Angels 39-2, the final tally was 8-0 RU. However lopsided the last game was, the all-time record between the two teams is 2-2 since 2009.

The Blue Angels are hopeful to have a full lineup plus subs, not to mention a healthy Becky Onan (Fr./Grafton, Wis.) who leads the Association of Division III Independents with 146 saves in 2014. Throughout the season, the Blue Angels have had to push their roster to the limit, forcing starters to play the full 90 minutes in over 80 percent of their games. Recently, MMU has been able to supply 12 to 13 players giving some of the starters a much deserved respite.

With a full squad, the offense has been able to showcase their talents in spurts. Most notably, Emily Ristow (Jr./Sheboygan, Wis.) has been able to shine through. In the last home contest for the Blue Angels, Ristow knocked in four goals in the first half alone. The Blue Angel has 16 on the season, and has hit the 61 mark for her career, which leads MMU all-time in goals scored.

Following the Rockford University match, the Blue Angels will get ready to host Robert Morris-Lake County. The contest is set for Wednesday Oct. 22nd, with kickoff at 3:30 pm on Mount Mary Field.
