GCU Hurdles Soccer in Friday Matinee

MILWAUKEE – The Mount Mary University soccer team dropped a Friday matinee to visiting Grace Christian University, 8-0, at MMU Soccer Field.

The loss drops Mount Mary to 0-5 on the year, while the Tigers improved to 4-2 overall.

Seven different Tigers recorded a goal for GCU, led by Aubrey Bristol's bookend scores in the fourth and 89th minutes. Grace Christian held its second straight opponent shotless, outshooting an under-womaned MMU 39-0. Twenty-three of those shots came on-goal.

Freshman Angie Gomez (Milwaukee, Wis./Martin Luther) recorded her first decision in goal for the Blue Angels, securing a personal best 15 saves.

MMU will have a quick turnaround, traveling to Maranatha Baptist University for a Saturday afternoon kickoff at 3:15 p.m. The Sabercats were also defeated by GCU this week, falling 4-0 on Thursday in Watertown.
