Milwaukee, WI - In what would be their final match of the 2022 soccer season, the Mount Mary Blue Angels hosted Eureka College in an afternoon match on Monday. Both teams had good scoring chances throughout the match, but at the end of the day it was truly an even game. Amanda Antonio scored a clutch goal for the Blue Angels with under three minutes to play, the goal pushed the match to a 2-2 tie, which would be the final score.
Milwaukee, WI – Friday featured the first ever soccer match between the visiting Knights of Spurgeon College and the Mount Mary Blue Angels. The last time Mount Mary took the pitch it was in a rain-soaked low scoring loss to Ripon College, much better weather conditions occurred on Friday, as MMU and Spurgeon played to a 90 minute scoreless draw.
Appleton, WI- Coming off of a draw against Maranatha Baptist, the Mount Mary soccer team headed to Appleton to take on the Vikings of Lawrence University. Lawrence got off to a fast start and never slowed down as they defeated Mount Mary by a score of 9-0.
Milwaukee, WI- Mount Mary and Maranatha Baptist played to a 2-2 draw on the soccer field Thursday. The Sabercats had defeated the Blue Angels earlier in the season, MMU nearly flipped the result in one of their best performances of the season. The young Blue Angel side showed offensive explosiveness and the defense held up under a barrage of Sabercat shots to preserve the draw in the second half.
Milwaukee, WI- The Mount Mary soccer team took on the Grace Christian Tigers in a rematch from September 24th. Unfortunately for MMU, the score in today’s match was identical to the first, as the Blue Angels fell to Grace Christian 3-0.
Berrien Springs, MI- Playing for a second time in less than a week, the soccer teams from Mount Mary and Andrews University once again played a very close match. In the October 2nd match up, only one goal was scored, on Friday in Michigan, there was one less as the teams played to a scoreless draw.
Watertown, WI- The Sabercats of Maranatha Baptist University used two first half goals to shoot ahead of the Mount Mary soccer team on Thursday. The Blue Angels were unable to erase the deficit, and fell to Maranatha by a final score of 5-1.
Defiance, OH- Mount Mary came into Sunday's match against Defiance College looking for an offensive spark. The Blue Angels found it in Sam Reyes. The MMU freshman scored her first two career goals and the first of the season for Mount Mary. It was not quite enough for the Blue Angels to garner their first positive result however, as they fell to Defiance by a final score of 3-2.
GRAND RAPIDS, MI- The Mount Mary soccer team traveled to West Michigan to take on the Tigers of Grace Christian University. The match was a low scoring and competitive match up, with the Tigers holding off Mount Mary by a score of 3-0.
MILWAUKEE, WI – Coming off a draw against Alverno College, the Mount Mary soccer team looked to continue the positive momentum at home Sunday against Monmouth College. The visiting Scots had other ideas, they did not allow MMU to score and put up seven goals of their own to beat the Blue Angels 7-0.
MILWAUKEE, WI - The Mount Mary soccer team and the Alverno College Inferno met Sunday on the south side of Milwaukee. The two sides played a match that proved to be as even as possible, both in score and many statistics. The match ended in a scoreless draw, leaving Mount Mary with a record of 0-4-1 on the young season.
MILWAUKEE, WI – The Edgewood College Eagles brought a two match winning streak and tremendous depth to the Mount Mary soccer field on Friday. Edgewood used their deep roster and consistent offensive pressure to beat Mount Mary by a final of 8-0.
MILWAUKEE, WI – It was a battle of Milwaukee sides on the soccer pitch at Mount Mary on Tuesday. The Blue Angels hosted the Warriors of Wisconsin Lutheran College. The Warriors struck early with a goal in the fourth minute and would not look back. WLC defeated MMU by a score of 12-0.
MILWAUKEE, WI – Taking the home pitch for the second time in 3 days, the Mount Mary soccer team hoped to tally their first win of the season. The Blackburn College Beavers had other plans however, and they defeated the Blue Angel side by a score of 6-0.
MILWAUKEE, WI – The Mount Mary soccer team opened the 2022 season hosting the Muskies of Lakeland University. The Young Blue Angel team showed signs of potential but Lakeland proved too potent offensively as they pulled away for a 12-0 victory.
