Blue Angels give strong effort but fall to Ripon

Milwaukee, WI- On Tuesday, the Mount Mary Soccer team hosted the Red Hawks of Ripon College.  It would be the final home match of the 2024 season for the Blue Angels.  Mount Mary provided a valiant defensive effort, but fell to Ripon 4-1.

The Mount Mary defense and Brianna Brown held steadfast against Ripon in the first half.  The Red Hawks scored just once, and Carolyn Abraham found an equalizing goal late in the first half.  The two teams headed into intermission tied at one.

Mount Mary continued to battle short handed in the second half.  But the Red Hawks overwhelmed the Blue Angels and netted three second half goals for a 4-1 victory.

Abraham's first half goal was her eighth of the season.

Ripon launched 30 shots during the match and Brianna Brown provided 13 saves in her final home appearance.

Mount Mary (1-12-2) has one final match remaining on this season's schedule.  On Thursday, October 31st, the Blue Angels will travel to Maranatha Baptist University.  MBU defeated Mount Mary on September 24th and MMU will look to even the season series.  Stay tuned to www.mtmaryathletics.com for all coverage of Blue Angel soccer.
