Blue Angel Defense holds strong at St. Francis

Joliet, IL- The Mount Mary University soccer team faced a tall task when they traveled to Joliet, Illinois on Saturday to take on the Saints of the University of St. Francis.

Mount Mary did everything possible to slow down the Saints but fell in the match by a final score of 5-0.  Over the entire match, St Francis recorded 52 shots and the MMU defense was under almost constant pressure.  

Anna Corpas Salcedo held as strong as possible in goal, recording 20 saves over the course of the match.

St. Francis netted two goals in the first half and three in the second for the 5-0 final score.

The Blue Angels (0-8) will next be in action on Tuesday, October 7th, when they continue CCAC play at Holy Cross College.
