MILWAUKEE – The Mount Mary volleyball team has steadily improved since its rough start to the 2013 campaign, playing its best volleyball of the season as of late.

Improved play aside, the Blue Angels ran into a Buccaneer Buzz saw as visiting Beloit College swept Mount Mary in MMU's season finale 25-14, 25-10, 25-12 at the Bloechl Center Tuesday night.

The Bucs utilized one of the most up-tempo offenses Mount Mary has seen all season, forcing quick sets through their middle hitting tandem to beat the Blue Angel block. Beloit used a very efficient .325 hitting percentage and 14 service aces to simply blow past the host Angels.

Mount Mary was led by outside hitters Sarah Wishau (Oak Creek, Wis.) and Taylor Baumgart (Burlington, Wis.) who tallied seven and five kills respectively. Both hitters proved very efficient at the net, hitting a combined .305 between the two of them, however finding an attacking opportunity proved to be the true challenge.

Wishau also led with eight digs on the night, while freshman Phoenix Hulsey (Wauwatosa, Wis.) tallied eight assists.

The loss drops Mount Mary's season record to 1-23 overall. However, despite a losing record, the Blue Angels have plenty to build upon for years to come with no seniors on this year's roster.
