Blue Angels volleyball is getting ready for their first NCAA post season conference tournament. With a 3-16 (0-2 GSAC) record for the Blue Angels this season, they earned the fifth seed in the Great South Athletic Conference. The spot will pit the Blue Angels against Salem College for the first time in school history.

The Spirits come in with a similar record of 3-15 (2-2 GSAC) and a fourth place seed. Their offense is fueled by Kylie Taffer and Mariah Sharon who have 158 and 141 kills respectively for their team.

With the accuracy of Taffer, hitting at .194 this season, and the rest of the Spirits, Brandy Bednorz has had an easy time setting the table for her team as she is second in the GSAC in assists with 410.

On the other side of the court, the Blue Angels have a much more spread out offense. The front attack of Lauren Harris (Fr./Sheridan, Ill.), Payton Hintz (So./Almond, Wis.) and Katy Carlson (Fr./Whitewater, Wis.). Harris leads the team with 124 kills and a hitting percentage of .084. Hintz is second on the team with 113 kills and 171 assists. While Carlson has 109 kills with .048 hitting percentage.

Getting the offense going has been up to Hintz and Julia Terasa (Jr./Waukesha, Wis.); Terasa leads the Blue Angels with 242 assists on the season.

The two teams will face off for a chance to move to the semi-finals of the GSAC tournament. The winner of the tournament will be granted an invitation to the NCAA national tournament. Only three games between MMU and a historical run to the national tourney.
