DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Mount Mary University volleyball team lost tonight to host Emmaus Bible College (15-1) at the Pollard Fieldhouse. The 3-0 score went in favor of the Eagles 25-10, 25-12, 25-4. Following tonight's match, the Blue Angels (0-11) will have a quick turnaround as they play their next match in less than 24 hours in Chicago.

The Blue Angels opened set No. 1 with a 2-0 lead. Payton Hintz (Sr./Almond, Wis.) started at the serve line to give MMU the lead, then following two serve switches, teammate Lauren Harris (Jr./Sheridan, Ill.) delivered an ace from the serve line. Another Hintz kill, gave MMU the lead at 5-1.

The Eagles turned around and answered back with a 24-5 run to take the opening set. EBC hit 14 team kills and four errors on 27 total attacks. MMU mustered two kills and six errors on their 25 total attacks in the set.

In the second set, the Blue Angels quickly bounced back from a 2-1 deficit to take a 3-2 lead. An immediate 10-point run by the Eagles gave EBC the lead which they would not surrender again in the set.

MMU had their most potent frame of the night in the second set with four team kills on 33 total attacks. Junior Lauren Harris led that charge with three of the four kills in that set.

Although the Blue Angels lost the final set 25-4, it was their most accurate kill percentage of the night with three kills on 32 total attacks. However, the Eagles also had their most accurate set of the night in the third frame with 13 team kills and one error on 31 total attacks.

Melanie Coffey (So./Cedarburg, Wis.) was among the team leaders in kills with three. The sophomore also cleaned up with six digs for her squad.

Harris and Hintz each helped out with three kills each. Hintz also went on to lead MMU with three assists and 11 digs.
