Blue Angels fall in close match at Maranatha

Watertown, WI- On Saturday, September 28th, the Mount Mary Volleyball team gained a three-set sweep of Maranatha Baptist.  MMU headed to Watertown on Thursday, looking for a second win on the season over the Sabercats.  The season sweep was not to be for Mount Mary as Maranatha would hold court at home and win the match in four sets.

The two teams split the first two sets, with MMU winning set one and Maranatha evening the match by winning set number two.

Maranatha continued their momentum as they pulled out a close third set win by a score of 25-23.

The fourth set was another close match up, Mount Mary would hold off three match points.  However, the homestanding Sabercats would pull out the set by a 26-24 score to end the match.

Emma White recorded 11 kills for the Blue Angels and Rosalinda Palacios added 10.  White also added 20 assists and Anastasia Paulino 12.  Abigail Manthey paced the Blue Angels with 38 digs on the evening.

The Blue Angels (3-14) will be back in action again on Friday, October 18th.  Mount Mary will host the Tigers of Grace Christian University.  The match at the Bloechl Center will begin at 3 pm.  All live coverage can be found on www.mtmaryathletics.com
