NCAA Series: Sabercats lead 3-1
The Sabercats head to the Bloechl with a 5-6 record. Most recently MBU suffered a 68-58 loss to Silver Lake ending their first win streak of the season at three games.
So far this season, the Sabercats as a team are scoring 58.6 points per game while allowing opponents to score 56.6 points per game. The bulk of that scoring can be traced to three of Sabercats starters.
The 5-foot-10 forward, Alexis Johnson, has been active at the rim scoring 11.2 points per game while pulling in 8.4 rebounds per game. Johnson's defense has also been a big part of her game leading the team with 1.9 steals per game.
Teammates Stacy Reinke and Hanna Glaze are pitching in offensively with 10.2 and 9.5 points per game respectively.
The Blue Angels are coming off their latest victory against Illinois Tech. MMU trailed by four at half to the Scarlet Hawks, but came back with a 27-8 second half to get a Blue Angels win.
At this point in the season, MMU averages 39.0 points per game while allowing teams to score 60.9 per game. Although the averages may sway in favor of the Sabercats, MMU and MBU have the same record of 1-1 against common opponents (Illinois Tech and Rockford) with similar point differentials in each.
For the Blue Angels offense, Jess Runge (Jr./Freedom, Wis.), Ariel Oviedo (Jr./Shawano, Wis.) and Shandrieka Richardson (Sr./Atlanta, Ga.) are scoring 6.4, 6.1 and 5.9 points per game.
Fellow Blue Angel Becky Onan (So./Grafton, Wis.) leads the team with 13.9 points per game, 9.6 rebounds per game and a Great South Athletic Conference leading 2.6 blocks per game.
