Blue Angels Bring Home Awards

SALEM, N.C. – The Great South Athletic Conference announced their annual basketball awards. Multiple Mount Mary University Blue Angels were recognized during this year's GSAC basketball 2015-16 award ceremony.

For the Blue Angels, Becky Onan (So./Grafton, Wis.) was named to the GSAC All-Conference Team after posting a conference leading 3.0 blocks per game while also averaging a team leading 14.1 points per game and 9.3 rebounds per game. Eight times this season, Onan recorded a double-double in points and rebounds.

Representing the Blue Angels on the All-Sportsmanship Team this season was Shandrieka Richardson (Sr./Atlanta, Ga.). Richardson has been a constant contributor for MMU since 2010 and finished this year with 5.7 points per game, 2.7 rebounds per game and 1.7 assists per game.

Four Blue Angels were named to the GSAC All-Academic team. Ariel Oviedo (Jr./Shawano, Wis.), Sarah Fink (Jr./Milwaukee, Wis.), Madeline Smith (Jr./Minnetonka, Minn.) and Catt Bernthal (So./Pewaukee, Wis.) made this year's list.
