The first time the Blue Angels participated in the Great South Athletic Conference was in 2014 when the Blue Angels participated as championship members of the conference in tennis. The championship status allowed the Blue Angels to become eligible for the conference’s season awards along with an invitation to the postseason conference tournament.
A full season later in the 2015 fall semester, the Blue Angels accepted another invitation to become championship members in the sports of basketball, soccer, softball and volleyball. This allowed the Blue Angels to again take home regular season conference awards and an invitation to the conference tourneys in each sport.
