Blue Angels fall in pair against Illinois OpponentsMay 01, 2022Elmhurst,IL- In a season full of cancellations and schedule adjustments due to weather, the Mount Mary softball team used significant creativity to play a doubleheader on Sunday. The Blue Angels took on two opponents from Chicagoland in two single road contests, The Maroons of the University of Chicago and the Blue Jays of Elmhurst University, each at their home sites. Unfortunately, Mount Mary could not deliver the big hit in either game and fell to the Maroons and Blue Jays in close contests.

Blue Angels sweep at Maranatha- Record Breaking Winning Streak extended to sixApril 24, 2022Watertown- WI- The Mount Mary University softball team traveled to Watertown on Saturday looking to complete a four-game season sweep of the Maranatha Baptist Sabercats. The Blue Angels used the same blueprint as Friday to win both games, dominant pitching, an offensive attack with many contributors and solid defense. Mount Mary has now won six straight games and eight of their last nine. The six-game winning streak is the longest in the NCAA era of Mount Mary softball, stretching back to the 2010 season.

Red Hot Blue Angels Sweep LawrenceApril 20, 2022Appleton, WI – The Mount Mary Blue Angel softball team brought their offense to Appleton on Tuesday and easily swept the Vikings of Lawrence University. In the doubleheader, the Blue Angels scored 29 runs, pounded out 27 hits and hit 3 home runs. Mount Mary is on their hottest streak of the season, having won 4 of their last 5.

Early Offense Powers Blue Angels to sweep over BeloitApril 13, 2022Beloit, WI - The Mount Mary Blue Angel softball team took the field against Beloit College on Tuesday on a mission, they jumped the Buccaneers with a dominating offensive attack. Mount Mary scored 20 runs in the doubleheader and 12 of those runs came in the first 2 innings. Mount Mary pounded out 28 hits as they shot out to early leads in both games, leads they would not relinquish and they swept the doubleheader to begin what will be a busy stretch of softball over the next 2 weeks.

Softball weekend recap: Dominican and EurekaMarch 28, 2022Eureka, IL- The Mount Mary softball team was scheduled to play six games in the state of Illinois between March 25th and March 27th. Three trends continued for the Blue Angels, a tough one run loss, a dominant offensive blowout win, and games being cancelled due to weather. The Blue Angels dropped two games to Dominican, the Saturday contests vs. Knox were cancelled due to weather, and Sunday saw Mount Mary split the twin bill vs Eureka.

However, the Blue Angels finished the trip on a very positive note with a 12-4 win over the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

However, some of the Midwest’s best teams proved to be tough competition for the Blue Angels, as they dropped the next 3 contests and finishing with a 1-3 record over the two day trip.
